Legal Assistant


Job Summary:

Provide secretarial support for attorney and assist other Legal personnel as needed.


Position Responsibilities:


· Schedule calendars and court events with multiple parties.

· Schedule meetings and coordinate travel arrangements.

· Prepare basic pre-hearing pleadings, extensions, subpoenas and other documents.

· Transcribe dictation.

· Answer telephones for assigned attorneys.

· Review incoming mail.

· Tasks closely governed by policies and procedures; occasional guidance from supervisor.

· Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

· Regular attendance required.


Required Experience:

· 2 years law office experience or education in the legal field.

· Accurate typing skills at 55 + words per minute.

· Detail orientation sufficient to accurately complete assignments.

· Organizational skills sufficient to work well in an atmosphere of frequent interruptions.

· Communication skills to interact with associates at every level of the organization.

· Ability to follow through on assignments with minimal supervision.


Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent degree
